Kimpton Rovers turned in a five-star performance at home to fellow Division Three side DES United cruising into the second round of the county wide Hertfordshire Sunday Junior Cup competition.

The latest incarnation of Kimpton Rovers got their league campaign off to a victorious start away at St Ippolyts Reserves with a third minute goal being the only difference between the two very competitive sides.

Kimpton’s pre-season campaign came to a disappointing end at home to former Division One side Hitchin Rovers on Sunday.  Once again team manager Darren Riseley was unable to field his strongest side with several players missing which was far from ideal with the 25/26 season starting in a just weeks’ time. 

A depleted Kimpton squad travelled to Litlington on Sunday to take on fellow Division Three side Ashwell, and put in it’s best overall performance of the preseason, in what could be the clubs’ penultimate pre-season friendly.

Rovers were very unlucky to be edged out by the odd goal in five against Hitchin Sunday League newcomers St Ippolyts Reserves on Sunday 17th August, but with plenty of positives to take and the summer heat adding to the challenge for both teams, the club continues to bank postive performances as preparations for the upcoming season.

Kimpton Rovers continued their preparation for the new season with their first home match of the preseason against Hitchin Sunday League Division 2 outfit Buffs FC.

Kimpton Rovers took to the artificial turf of Sandringham School in St Albans on Sunday in it’s first preseason fixture under the new incarnation against Wheathampstead Cricket Club, made up of Hertfordshire 1961 Sunday League players, and came away with many positives despite the 2-1 reverse.

As Kimpton Rovers prepares for the season ahead, the club is pleased to announce the 25/26 preseason training schedule. Sessions will take place three times a week at The Recreation Ground, Kimpton.

Ahead of the 25/26 Hitchin Sunday league Season, Kimpton Rovers are pleased to confirm the appointment of Darren Riseley as Manager and Adam Sayer as Assistant Manager.

The appointments come as part of our wider aim to elevate standards and put greater focus on structured training, long term player development, and building a motivated squad
