Kimpton Rovers waved goodbye to any possibility of cup glory this season as they slipped out of the Division Three cup at the first hurdle. 

Despite a hat-trick from captain marvel Alex Jode, Kimpton Rovers came away empty handed from their first ever visit to Meppershall.  In what was described as a “cracking game of football” by referee David Bailey as both sides gave their all as 2025 drew to a close, football wise. 

After six consecutive defeats Kimpton Rovers finally returned to winning ways, claiming all three points in a six goal thriller at The Recreation Ground.

Kimpton Rovers once again went toe to toe with top end Division Two opposition and turned in one of, if not their best performance of the season, belied unfortunately by the somewhat convincing scoreline.

Kimpton Rovers fell to a narrow defeat on home turf in a tight and competitive clash against Leas Sports PSG, with both sides creating chances and momentum swinging throughout the 90 minutes.

Kimpton Rovers were squeezed out of this year’s challenge cup at the first hurdle after being drawn at home to Division Two table toppers Cronies.  Despite the result looking convincing this was far from the full story as the home side, severely depleted from recent weeks put on the performance of their lives going into the break one goal apiece. 

Kimpton Rovers paid the ultimate price for a missed first half penalty as they were narrowly edged out of the County Cup by visiting side Hemel Albion Reserves, who took full advantage to claim a 1–0 win at the Recreation Ground.

With Halloween fast approaching, Kimpton Rovers delivered a 45 minute horror show that was more than fitting of the autumnal celebration.

They say a week is a long time in politics, in Sunday football it’s a very different story !!  Seven days ago Kimpton Rovers were on the receiving end of a six-goal demolition, this week they were the ones dishing out the same fate, league newcomers Meppershall the victims of a ninety-minute onslaught from Darren Riseley’s men.

Kimpton extended their unbeaten start to the season to three games with a well fought out draw away to local rivals Whitwell 25.  This was the first time the villages had met competitively since 2003 so it promised to be a close contest.

Kimpton Rovers turned in a five-star performance at home to fellow Division Three side DES United cruising into the second round of the county wide Hertfordshire Sunday Junior Cup competition.
