Club Mission
Kimpton Rovers Community Football Club exists to provide a welcoming, respectful and supportive environment for people to enjoy football in our village and surrounding areas. We’re a local club that brings people together, promote fitness and wellbeing, and offer a space where players of all abilities can enjoy the game.
A Club Rooted in the Village
Football has long been part of Kimpton’s story. Records go back as far as 1901, when the game was already being played here. Over time, teams have come and gone, but the love for football has remained a steady presence in the community. We aim to honour that heritage by bringing it all under one banner, Kimpton Rovers CFC.
We're proud of our village’s love for football and believe that our football club should reflect the character of the place it represents. That means staying grounded, keeping things inclusive, and always remembering that the people involved, players, volunteers and supporters are what really make the club.
For Everyone, At Every Level
Our aim is simple: to make football accessible to everyone who wants to take part. We welcome people of all backgrounds and levels of experience. Whether someone is playing for fun, just getting started, returning after time away, or looking to develop their skills further, we try to create a place where people feel encouraged and supported.
We’re also aware that football isn’t just about playing, it’s about being part of something. Whether it’s people helping with kit or volunteers setting up the pitch before matches, everyone has a role and everyone’s contribution matters.
Doing Things the Right Way
We may be a small club, but we operate with care and thought. That means being respectful, towards each other, our opponents, the match officials and the environment we share. It also means being fair, organised and honest in how we run things.
We are in the very early stages of working towards becoming a 3-Star England Football accredited club. It’s a long-term goal and we know there’s a lot to do, but we believe in steady progress and building things properly. We’re not aiming to be the biggest club, just a good one that people trust and enjoy being part of.
Looking After Our Community
We see the club as part of something bigger. Football has the power to connect people, and we try to play a small but meaningful part in the life of the village. From youth 5-a-side tournaments, to helping set up village events, we’re always looking for ways to include more people and bring value to the local area.
We also understand that times change, and we’re open to new ideas. Whether it’s improving facilities, offering new sessions, or just listening to what local people want, we aim to grow carefully and with purpose.
Helping People Grow
Part of our role as a club is to support development, not just of players, but of people. We try to create an environment where people can build confidence, learn responsibility, and feel part of a team. For younger players, this might mean taking their first steps into organised football. For older players, it might mean enjoying the game in a new way or helping others develop. For volunteers, it might be a chance to learn new skills or take on a small role with a big impact. Wherever possible, we try to support that growth.
Our Core Values
Our club values guide what we do:
Respect – We treat each other well, behave properly on and off the pitch, and take pride in representing our club.
Inclusivity – Everyone is welcome. We want people to feel they belong, whatever their age, background or experience.
Integrity – We’re honest and accountable. We own our mistakes, try to learn from them, and aim to do the right thing even when no one’s watching.
Community – The club is part of the village community, but also its own small community, connected by football, shared effort, and mutual respect.
Moving Forward, One Step at a Time
Our ambition is to be a well-run, trusted club that people are proud to be part of. We want to keep improving, whether that means better facilities or more opportunities to play. We don’t pretend to have all the answers or get everything right. But we care, we listen, and we try. That’s what drives us forward, not big promises, just a steady commitment to doing our best.
In It Together
Kimpton Rovers CFC aims to be more than a team in the truest sense, not just the players on the pitch, but everyone who gives their time, turns up to support, or helps behind the scenes. We’re lucky to have a mix of people who share a common goal: to make football in our village something that brings people together and gives something back.
If you're already part of the club, thank you. If you're thinking of joining, you’re very welcome.
